Introduction

Hi everyone!!
I’m Emma Baumgardner, a senior majoring in Communication and Digital Studies. I chose to take this course, partially because it was an elective for my major and I’ve always enjoyed McClurken’s courses. However, I also am genuinely interested in all of the potential topics that we’re going to get into this semester. We always talk about communication being an interdisciplinary field, and I enjoy seeing that come into fruition. I’m excited to take on these topics with a communication background while also using a historical lense.

One of the pieces of advice that I’ll definitely be taking advantage of it to check up on the syllabus, since it will be changing. As far as previous projects go, I think the Pony Express and live tweeting historical events both sound interesting!
