“Clapback”
For this infographic, I chose to focus on Nancy Pelosi’s “Clapback” meme that originated during this year’s State of the Union address. Following the longest government shutdown in US history, President Trump addressed the nation about topics such as border control, our economic standing, and the record-breaking number of women in congress to name a few.
Following one of Trump’s remarks regarding the need for cooperation and the need for a common good, there was a standing ovation from everyone including Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. This portion of the speech peaked the interest of many throughout the nation and the “Clapback” meme was born.
